I would like to apologize to those who check this website daily for the lack of updates. There have been a lot of things keeping me busy including work, school finals, the girlfriend, and taking the time to bump every single for sale thread on every forum that I post on. Things were going great for my car last week. I got a new differential put in, got a J’s Racing carbon fiber diffuser, a lip, and some new wheels (I’ll get to that in a bit). This week, things have been utter shit. While driving home from Rancho Cucamonga, one of the diffuser mounts hit a reflector on the freeway (YES that’s how low that shit hangs) and basically I ended up dragging the diffuser home for 45 miles. Then, today, while I was taking off said wheels, the stock jack decides to go limp under the weight of an s2000 (I know…) and popped out causing my rear wheel which had no lug nuts on, to hold up that corner of the car via the quarter panel. It’ll probably take you a few reads to fully picture that. Basically, it dented my QP and to make matters worse, while I was rolling my stock wheels toward my car, one of them hit vtec and ran out of my grip and into the very same quarter panel, leaving a nasty paint scuff. If I had gotten my paint job on time and this happened, I probably would have been in a foul mood for the rest of the day. BUT, since I have been lagging it sick on paint and bodywork, everything’s all good. Might end up spending another hundred bucks for more bodywork but what’s done is done.
VS-XX FEVER!!!
By chance, I ended up acquiring two sets of silver 18″ Work VS-XX wheels. The first set was off of a 240SX (18×9.5/8.5 +31) and quite aggressive so I went through the trouble of finding 235/35 tires for the rear. I ran 225/40’s up front without a problem. I was delighted to find that once I dropped the jack, the car was “Dolla Bill Flush”
Needless to say, I was ecstatic once I drove it hard around the block and found that it didn’t rub! The pictures below might make it seem as if there’s a fatty dent in my quarter panels, but that was just an illusion combining 3 months of dirt buildup and poor parking lot lighting. Again, quite ironic that I receive a dent IN THAT EXACT SPOT a week later.

It ain’t VS-XX fever if you only have one set right? Well I also picked up a set of 18×9/8 +35. They were pretty much identical except this set had the “Work” center caps whereas the other had the “VS” caps… These wheels were off a buddy’s NSX. He’s a lucky sonuvabitch. Want to know why? He works at a bank and one of his elderly customers came in having to foreclose his home and told him about his pristine NSX for $19k sitting at home that he had to get rid of as well. Pristine NSX? That would pique my interest too. $19k? Fuck I’d pay that almost in a heartbeat for a 91 with 150k miles. What does Mr. Sonuvabitch do? Offer $17k cash. The old man takes it.
Want more details? 1993, all original, showroom condition berlina black paint, 52k miles, Harry Potter novel-sized folder of documentation and record of all dealer maintenance. Since then, he has added *my* VS-XX, Tein Flex coilovers, SOS test pipes, Taitec GTLW exhaust, oem lip, and Seibon NSX-R CF spoiler. Hopefully I will get a chance to shoot the thing soon.

did you roll the fenders on the s2k?

YES, my fenders have been worked on SO many times lol. First time I took it to VIP Auto Salon (Status Auto) in Torrance and they used a hammer for the front and trimmed the rear. I went more aggressive and trimmed some of the rear bumper, and relocated the bumper tab. Then I went more aggressive and rented an Eastwood fender roller and went to town on the fenders, literally. I pulled & flared them as much as I could. I am planning on going more aggressive with my future setup so the bodyshop is going to widen them a little more.
